[Recipe] Awesome Beer Can Bacon Burger!

This is literally the best burger you will ever have…

Moist, flavoursome and totally irresistible!

Ingredients

Grass Fed Beef Steak Mince – 4 x Packs
Outdoor Bred Streaky Bacon – 1 x Pack
Canned Beer – 1 unopened (can be opened (and drunk) after prep work is done)
Burger Buns (optional – can be replaced with something clever like lettuce or aubergine if you want)- x 6

Toppings we used (these are totally changeable according to taste)

Cheese – chunked/shredded (your favourite will do)
Mushrooms
Onions
Peppers – Red/Green
BBQ sauce

Method

Bring your BBQ temperature up to 150deg C (300deg F) with coals offset for indirect cooking. Can be also be done in an oven at the same heat – not quite the same though…

Sauté your mushrooms, onions, and peppers – this can also be done on the BBQ if you have a grill plate.

Make your burger balls, 8oz/227g to 12oz/340g each. Make sure meat is nice and cold.

Press the beer can into centre of each meatball forming a pocket around the can.

Wrap bacon around each one. Should take two pieces of bacon.

Using a tea towel, remove the beer can from meatball carefully making sure not to break the edges.

Do this until all meatballs have been formed.

Take stuffing/toppings and start placing inside meatball pockets. Use your favourite toppings if you don’t like what we used (although it was awesome)

Chunk your favourite cheese and place 2-3 pieces inside desired meatballs and then top with a little shredded cheese.

Add a few dashes of your favourite BBQ sauce.

Place bacon burgers opposite hot coals for indirect cooking (or in the oven)

Put lid on grill and cook for one hour. (Optional – turn and rotate after 30 minutes)

After one hour, check for desired “doneness”.

Remove from grill.

Place bacon burgers on buns.

Top with favourite condiments.

Serve with homemade coleslaw & grilled vegetables.
