Paleo Diet: The Meatza With Grass Fed Beef!

Introducing The Meatza!!!!!!

The Meatza. Just think of it like a pizza....but replace the usual base and crust with top notch grass fed beef...Sound good?

We have had a look different recipes for this meaty meaty feast, and found this one that works really well. Toppings are a very personal thing so feel free to be inventive and put on the Meatza whatever you have handy! We went for roasted red peppers, chilli, garlic and onions (and some good quality Mozzerella) in the pictures below. What will you choose? We recommend plenty of colour and different veggies...and don't forget those spices!

What you will need for the base ingredients...(For 2 Good Sized Portions + Awesome Leftovers)

  • 2 x 500g Athleat Steak Mince

  • 2 x High Quality Free Range Eggs (fresher the better)

  • Small Handful of chopped fresh thyme

  • 2 Teaspoons of Dried Oregano

  • Finely Chopped Red Onion

  • 2 Cloves Garlic (finely chopped)

  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Preheat oven to 450F/230C. Line a rimmed oven tray with parchment/greaseproof paper. The rim is important so the grease is contained while the meat cooks. In a large bowl combine the meat, eggs, thyme, oregano, red onion, salt pepper and garlic. Whisk the egg with a fork then get your hands in there and thoroughly combine the eggs with the meat.

Spread the meat out evenly and thinly over the entire pan, stretching it all the way to the sides. Bake for 10-12 minutes and remove from the oven. Turn the oven to high. The meat will have shrunk by several inches. We like to gently scrape off the top to remove excess grease and then transfer the meat to a new pan.

Spread your homemade (or bought) tomato sauce on top, leaving a little rim around the edges for a “crust.” Cover the meatza with your selected toppings (beware paleo dieters....no cheese allowed!) Back in the oven for 5-7 minutes and toppings should be lightly browned. Sprinkle with some oregano and serve!

 Enjoy...
