Simply epic on that cheat day bacon sarnie, or just as good for adding flavour to a whole host of recipes - everything is better with our lovely bacon! 

With absolutely no added water it has a very mellow and delicious flavour that makes this bacon stand out from the rest.

We have scoured the country for the best Bacon curing specialists and found an absolute gem! The guys over at Sandridge carefully select the best whole sides of Outdoor Bred pork to ensure that once the curing process is complete we are left with a very high quality bacon. 

The pigs are naturally raised on the same farm as where it is cured which is a rarity in the industry and are provided a well balanced diet free from artificial hormones, growth promoters and routine antibiotics. The pigs are fed on a totally natural diet including yoghurt, beer and cider yeast!

The sides of pork are then cured using the traditional Wiltshire immersion method, Sandridge Farmhouse Bacon do not add ANY water to the bacon like the majority of highly manufactured "pumped" Bacon. They like to say that after salt, time is the most important ingredient.

This product is unsmoked.

What Roger Keen of Sandridge Farmhouse Bacon says:

"The first question a customer asks of our bacon is often ‘does it have any added water?’ The answer is no! I guarantee it will sizzle, not drizzle in your frying pan. It takes three weeks to cure our bacon, Our Wiltshire Cure has a sweet flavour, mellowed by time. Our Golden Rind Bacon is naturally smoked over oak and beech for two days."

All Athleat pork is sourced from small farms This gives the meat it’s subtle sweet taste and results in a higher meat to fat ratio.

The pigs spend the majority of their lives outside but have continual access to shelter. The rearing system is entirely straw based and the sows are left to farrow in peace and solitude and are fed on a diet of home grown natural vegetation.

Delivery & Packaging

We freshly cut and pack your meaty goodies into double sealed vacuum packs to ensure the meat stays as fresh as the day we cut it! Single items like steaks and chicken breasts will be packed in pairs or 10's unless an odd number is ordered (in which case it will be in a pair and a single pack) and produce like diced and minced meat will be in portion packs of approx 454g. Your Athleat goodies are well protected and kept chilled by the bespoke packaging we have developed over years of experience.

We combine high grade foil insulation inside double strength boxes to create a mini mobile fridge that is chilled to perfection by our Athleat ice sheets all of which can be easily recycled. Unfortunately we do not have a packaging returns service at the moment.

This solution is used for UK overnight deliveries as well as those going Europe wide. Carnivores everywhere order from Athleat, safe in the knowledge that their meat will be kept COLD and fresh for up to 72 hours in transit and beyond!

It's quite simple for me. The best quality meat has to come from farms where the animals are reared well, fed well, and butchered with skill. It's a simple recipe that gives the best tasting meat, and that is the benchmark for us. Awesomeness.
